The Goal Tracker on a Donation Page shows progress toward your fundraising goal, including real-time updates, rounding rules, and optional external donations.

## Using The Goal Tracker on Your Donation Page

When you set an **Initial Goal amount** for an Action Page, a **Goal Tracker** will automatically appear at the top of the public Donation Page.

The Goal Tracker:

* **Updates in real-time** to include **Completed donations** only.
* **Excludes donor-covered fees** from the total raised if the [Donor Covers Fees](/action-pages/advanced-features/donor-covers-fees.md) feature is enabled.
* **Rounds amounts and percentages** to the nearest whole number for display.

***Example:*** *If $141,540.85 in completed donations equals 12.87% of the goal, the tracker will show **13%** and a rounded goal amount of **143k**.*

## Add Goals

To add a Goal to your **Donation Page**:

1. Access **Finance → Giving** within the [Page Builder](/action-pages/page-builder.md) for your Donation Page.
2. Enter a value in the **Initial fundraising goal** field.
3. Optionally, enter a value under **External raised amount** to include donations received offline.
4. Click **Publish**.

Once the goal is reached, you can return to the Builder to **increase** the goal or **remove** it from the page.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.anedot.com/action-pages/advanced-features/goals.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
