# Funds in the Page Builder

Choose which Funds receive donations on a Donation Page or Event Page, split gifts between Funds, and connect an external fund in Finance > Funds.

**Funds** decide where each donation on your page goes. You set them in the Page Builder under **Finance > Funds**. This article covers adding Funds, splitting a gift between Funds, the multi-fund controls, and connecting an external fund.

{% hint style="info" %}
Funds are available on Donation Pages and Event Pages. Lead Pages don't take donations, so they don't have Funds.
{% endhint %}

## Before You Begin

* Your account needs at least one Fund. To create or edit Funds, see [Funds](/settings/finance/funds.md).
* To connect another organization's fund, you'll need their Anedot account UID.

## How Fund Placement Works

Each Fund on your page sits in one of two places:

* **Always shown:** Funds listed directly on the donation form. At least one is required.
* **Shown in dropdown:** Optional Funds donors can pick from a menu.

When you have more than one Fund under **Always shown**, give each one a percentage. The percentages must add up to 100, and each donation is split between them.

Example: You place two Funds under Always shown at 60 and 40 percent. A $100 donation sends $60 to the first Fund and $40 to the second.

## Add a Fund to Your Page

To add a Fund:

1. Go to **Action Pages > Pages**.
2. Hover over the page you want to edit.
3. Click **⋮ > Edit**.
4. Select **Finance > Funds**.
5. Click **Add fund** under **Always shown** or **Shown in dropdown**.
6. Search for and select the Fund.
7. If two or more Funds are under **Always shown**, enter percentages that total 100.
8. Click **Save**.

The Fund appears on the form in the place you chose.

{% hint style="warning" %}
If the Always shown percentages don't add up to 100, the page won't save.
{% endhint %}

## Multi-Fund Controls

These options apply when two or more Funds are under **Always shown**. Until then, they're unavailable.

* **Expand funds on load:** Donors see a list of Funds and their splits. When off, they see a summary.
* **Allow allocation changes:** Donors can change how much of their gift goes to each Always shown Fund. Turn this off to keep your splits fixed.

## Connect an External Fund

Connecting another organization's fund lets both organizations raise money on the same page. See [Tandem Pages](/action-pages/advanced-features/tandem-pages.md).

To connect an external fund:

1. In **Finance > Funds**, click **Connect external fund**.
2. Enter the other organization's **External account UID**.
3. Click **Connect external fund**.

The message "Connection request created." appears. After the connection is in place, add that fund to your page with **Add fund**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.anedot.com/action-pages/page-builder/funds-in-the-page-builder.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
