# Unsubscribe / Contact List Removal

Anedot is a fundraising platform and payment processor. We do not send marketing emails or texts, and we do not solicit donations on behalf of organizations.

Anedot is a fundraising platform and payment processor. We do not send marketing emails or texts, and we do not solicit donations on behalf of organizations. The only messages you may receive from Anedot are legal transaction receipts or notices related to active donations.

Anedot never sells, shares, or leases donor data to third parties. Organizations on our platform may manage their own contact lists. If you are getting unwanted communications, use the steps below.

### Unsubscribing From Emails

* Look for an **Unsubscribe** link at the bottom of the email (it may be small or styled).
* Use your email provider's tools to block senders or mark messages as spam. See your provider's help center for guidance.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Avoid opening attachments from unknown senders—they may be unsafe.
{% endhint %}

### Stopping Text Messages

* Reply with **STOP** (only that word) to unsubscribe from most automated texts.
* Be careful clicking links in texts, even those labeled "unsubscribe."
* Block the sender in your phone settings.
* If texts continue, contact your mobile carrier to report and block the number.

### Unwanted Physical Mail

The USPS offers tools to refuse or reduce unsolicited mail. See [USPS.com](https://www.usps.com) for details.

### Contact The Organization Directly

If messages continue, contact the organization—not Anedot or your email/mobile provider.

* Find contact info or a form on the organization's website.
* Clearly request removal. Specify the channel (email, text, mail) and which information to remove—do not include sensitive personal data.
* If there is no contact form, check the Privacy Policy (usually in the footer) for email or mailing details.
* You can also try messaging them on social media.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.anedot.com/donor-support/faq/unsubscribe-contact-list-removal.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
