# Verify Bank Account

To donate by ACH (direct bank draft), Anedot verifies your bank account through Plaid. This guide is written for donors. Use these steps in the donor portal.

To donate by ACH (direct bank draft), Anedot verifies your bank account through Plaid. Plaid is a trusted platform that connects using your online banking credentials.

**Important:** Anedot does not store or access your banking credentials.
{% endhint %}

### How To Submit an ACH Donation

1. Click the blue **Connect Bank Account** button at the bottom of the donation form.
2. Select or enter your bank's name.
3. Sign in with your online banking credentials to connect your account.
4. Choose the account to use for the donation.
5. After verification, complete your donation.

### Can't Find the Connect Bank Account Button?

If the button does not appear, you are likely signed in to your DonorID with a bank account already saved as your preferred payment method. To use a different bank account:

1. Click **Use new payment method**.
2. Re-enter your bank details.
3. The **Connect Bank Account** button should then be available.

{% hint style="info" %}
Each ACH donation requires verification through Plaid, even if you have donated by bank draft before.
{% endhint %}

### Manual Bank Connection (Micro-Deposit)

If you connect your bank manually instead of signing in with online banking credentials, Plaid verifies the account with a micro-deposit. For finding the **$0.01** deposit, entering the code from the transaction description, Same-Day ACH timing, and **Verification Unsuccessful**, see [Verify a bank account with Plaid micro-deposit](/get-started/apply-for-an-account/verify-a-bank-account-with-plaid-micro-deposit.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.anedot.com/donor-support/faq/verify-bank-account.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
