# Verify A Bank Account with Plaid Micro-Deposit

When Plaid cannot use online banking login, verify a bank account with a micro-deposit during Anedot account setup.

When Anedot connects a bank account through Plaid without online banking credentials, Plaid verifies the account with a micro-deposit. This applies during the fundraising account application, when adding a bank account in **Settings → Finance → Bank Accounts**, and when verifying a bank account for an ACH gift or payment.

### Manual Bank Connection (Micro-Deposit)

1. Look for a **$0.01 deposit from Plaid** in your bank's recent transactions. It should arrive within a few moments.
2. Enter **only the code from the transaction description**, exactly as it appears.
3. If the deposit does not show in online banking right away, check **pending** or **incoming** transactions, or contact your bank.

{% hint style="info" %}
Plaid may send this deposit with automated or Same-Day ACH. A standard ACH deposit usually posts within **one business day**. Some **business accounts** show the deposit more reliably in online banking.
{% endhint %}

### Verification Unsuccessful

**Verification Unsuccessful** appears when the code you enter does not match the code on the micro-deposit. Enter the code again exactly as it appears in the transaction description.

If you leave the code entry screen without entering a code (for example, because you cannot find the deposit), return once you can see the **$0.01** Plaid transaction and complete verification with the code from that description.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.anedot.com/get-started/apply-for-an-account/verify-a-bank-account-with-plaid-micro-deposit.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
