# Zapier

Connect Anedot to Zapier to automate workflows from donation events, form submissions, and refunds using an API token or webhook-style connection options.

## Zapier

Zapier is an online automation platform that connects Anedot to over 6,000 other apps. With Zapier, you can create automated workflows, called Zaps, by linking trigger events in Anedot to actions in other tools—streamlining your processes without the need for custom development.

### Connecting Anedot to Zapier

#### **Step 1: Set Up the Integration in Anedot**

1. Navigate to **Settings → Integrations → Directory** in your Anedot account.
2. Click **+ New Connection** in the upper right.
3. Select **Zapier** from the list of available integrations.
4. To set up new Zaps, you'll need your **Anedot API Token**:
   * Copy the API Token provided within the Zapier connection drawer in Anedot.

5. Log in to your Zapier account via Anedot.
   * If you already have active Zaps, they will be displayed here.

#### **Step 2: Create a Zap in Zapier**

1. In Zapier, click **Create Zap**.
2. Select **Anedot** as the app and choose one of the following triggers:

* **AP Donation Completed**
* **Submission Created**

3. Connect your Anedot account using your **Anedot** **email** and **API Token**.

* If previously connected, select the account from the dropdown.

4. Choose your **Account UID**.
5. *(Optional)* Specify an **Action Page ID** to limit the sync to a specific page.

* Leave blank to include all Action Pages.

6. Complete the rest of the Zap setup based on your workflow needs.
7. Once saved, the integration will appear in Anedot's Integration Directory.

> *If you'd like to subscribe to **all donation events**, contact Anedot Support for assistance.*
>
> *If the data available within Anedot's direct integration does not suit your organization's needs, you can set up a **webhook** integration and connect your Zap to the webhook instead of the Anedot app.*
>
> *Email addresses used in Zapier are case-sensitive and must be correct for your current account credentials.*

### Using Zapier Webhooks

#### Alternative Route

If the standard Zapier app doesn’t meet your data needs, you can integrate via webhooks:

#### **In Zapier**

1. Create a new Zap.
2. Choose **Webhooks by Zapier** as the app.
3. Select **Catch Hook** as the event.
4. Copy the **Webhook URL** provided.

#### **In Anedot**

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations → Directory**.
2. Click **+ New Connection**.
3. Select **Webhook** from the list.
4. Paste the **Zapier Webhook URL** into the Webhook URL field.
5. Complete the rest of your Zap setup in Zapier based on your needs.

### Data Relays

* **Supported Events:**
  * **Submission Created**
  * **Donation Completed**
  * **Donation Refunded/Voided**
* **Push Unsent**:
  * Available for Webhook-based Zaps to retry failed or unsent donations.
* **Field Customization:**
  * If a field is not available in the dropdown, you can use **manual entry** with double curly brackets.

This syntax uses double underscores to represent nested fields.
