# Connected Accounts

Connect your Anedot account to another organization in Settings > Access > Connections to share Funds on Tandem Pages and use Billing Agreements together.

A **connected account** is another Anedot organization linked to your fundraising account. Once you're connected, you can share Funds with each other for [Tandem Pages](/action-pages/advanced-features/tandem-pages.md) and use the connection for [Billing Agreements](/settings/finance/billing-agreements.md). You manage Connected Accounts in **Settings > Access > Connections** (the **Connections** tab). This article covers how connections work, and how to request, approve, share Funds with, and disconnect a connected account.

## Before You Begin

* To request, approve, or block connections, you need **Access Management: Edit Connected Accounts** permissions.
* You need the other organization's account ID. It's the long ID that starts with "a" in the web address after `/accounts/` when someone is signed in to that account. If the other organization can't find it, contact our Support team at <help@anedot.com>.

## How Connections Work

* **Requests:** You send a connection request with the other organization's account ID. Most connections are approved right away. If the other organization's account requires connection approval, the request waits until someone on their account approves it, and their Admin Users get an email titled "Anedot: \[your organization name] wants to connect."
* **Shared Funds:** Connected accounts share their General Fund by default. Each organization can share more Funds when the other should be able to use them on Tandem Pages.
* **Donor data:** Each account only sees the donations it receives. See [Tandem Pages](/action-pages/advanced-features/tandem-pages.md).
* **Status:** The Connections list has tabs for **All**, **Approved**, **Requested**, and **Rejected**. Approved connections show **Two-way** in the **Direction** column. Pending ones show **Incoming** or **Outgoing**.

## Request A Connection

To request a connection:

1. Go to **Settings > Access > Connections**.
2. Click **Request connection**.
3. Enter the other organization's **External account ID**.
4. Click **Request connection**.

You'll see "Connection request created." The connection appears in your list. If it's approved right away, or once the other organization approves it, it moves to the **Approved** tab.

You can also connect a partner while you build a Tandem Page. See [Tandem Pages](/action-pages/advanced-features/tandem-pages.md).

## Approve Or Block a Request

If your account requires connection approval, a request from another organization appears as a row in your Connections list with **Approve** and **Block** buttons. You can also find it on the **Requested** tab, with the direction **Incoming**. The person who sent a request can't approve it.

To respond to a request:

1. Go to **Settings > Access > Connections**.
2. Select the **Requested** tab.
3. On the request's row, click **Approve** or **Block**.

When you approve, you'll see "Connection approved." and both accounts are connected. When you block, you'll see "Connection blocked." and the request moves to the **Rejected** tab.

## Share More Funds

To share additional Funds with a connected account:

1. Go to **Settings > Access > Connections**.
2. Click the organization to open its connection details.
3. Under **Shared Funds**, choose a Fund under **Add fund**.
4. Click **Add fund**.

To stop sharing a Fund, click the trash icon next to it under **Shared Funds**. Funds the other organization shares with you are listed under **Third-Party Funds**.

## Use A Connected Account's Fund on a Tandem Page

After a connection is approved, the other organization's shared Funds are available in the Page Builder. See [Funds in the Page Builder](/action-pages/page-builder/funds-in-the-page-builder.md) and [Tandem Pages](/action-pages/advanced-features/tandem-pages.md).

Each organization should add its own disclaimer, such as a "paid for by" line, to its Fund in **Settings > Finance > Funds**. See [Funds](/settings/finance/funds.md).

## Cancel Or Disconnect

To cancel a request you sent or disconnect an account:

1. Go to **Settings > Access > Connections**.
2. Click the organization to open its connection details.
3. Click **Cancel request** for a pending request, or **Disconnect account** for an approved connection.
4. Confirm.

Disconnecting closes the connection for both accounts.

## Frequently Asked Questions

**Where do I find an organization's account ID?** Anyone signed in to that account can find it in the web address, after `/accounts/`. It starts with "a". It's also shown as **External Account ID** in the connection details once you're connected.

**Does the other organization have to approve my request?** Usually not. Connections are approved as soon as you send the request, unless the other organization's account requires connection approval.

**Which Funds are shared by default?** The General Fund. Share others from **Shared Funds** in the connection details.

**Can a connected organization see my donors?** No. Each account only sees the donations it receives.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.anedot.com/settings/access/connected-accounts.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
