# Funds

Create Funds in Settings > Finance > Funds to organize donations by purpose, choose the bank account each Fund pays out to, and add a public disclaimer.

A **Fund** organizes donations by purpose, such as a general fund, a building project, or a campaign committee. Each Fund pays out to one bank account and can carry its own disclaimer. You manage Funds in **Settings > Finance > Funds**, then add them to Action Pages in the Page Builder. This article covers how to create, edit, and delete a Fund.

## Before You Begin

* To manage Funds, you need **Account Management: Edit Funds** permissions.
* Connect at least one bank account first. See [Bank Accounts](/settings/finance/bank-accounts.md).

## What Funds Do

* Credit each donation to a specific purpose.
* Send each Fund's donations to the bank account you choose.
* Show a disclaimer, such as a "paid for by" line, on Action Pages that use the Fund.
* Share donations with connected accounts on Tandem Pages. See [Connected Accounts](/settings/access/connected-accounts.md).

The Funds list shows each **Fund**, its **Bank Account**, and the **Pages** that use it. A **Default** badge marks your default Fund, and a **Tandem** badge marks Funds that are shared by default with connected accounts. You can filter the list by bank account.

## Create A Fund

To create a Fund:

1. Go to **Settings > Finance > Funds**.
2. Click **Add Fund**.
3. Enter a **Fund Name**.
4. Enter an **Internal Identifier**, a code you use to match this Fund in other systems, such as your accounting software.
5. Choose a **Bank Account**.
6. (Optional) Enter a **Fund Disclaimer**.
7. (Optional) Turn on **Default Fund** to make this your account's default Fund.
8. (Optional) Turn on **Default for Tandem** to share this Fund automatically with organizations you connect to.
9. Click **Add Fund**.

To use the Fund on a page, add it in the Page Builder. See [Funds in the Page Builder](/action-pages/page-builder/funds-in-the-page-builder.md).

## Edit A Fund

To edit a Fund:

1. Go to **Settings > Finance > Funds**.
2. Click the Fund.
3. Update its details. The Fund details also show its **Fund ID**, **Date Added**, **Connected Accounts**, and **Action Pages**.
4. Click **Save**.

## Delete A Fund

You can delete a Fund only when no Action Pages use it and it isn't shared with a connected account. Remove it from those pages and connections first.

To delete a Fund:

1. Go to **Settings > Finance > Funds**.
2. Click the Fund.
3. Click **Delete Fund**, then confirm.

If the Fund can't be deleted, it may still be linked to Action Pages or connected accounts. Contact our Support team at <help@anedot.com> for help.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.anedot.com/settings/finance/funds.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
