# Organization Information & Account Ownership

Review your organization details, update public links and points of contact, and transfer account ownership in Settings > Setup > Organization Information.

**Organization Information** shows the legal and public details Anedot has on file for your organization, your public links, and your points of contact. It's also where the Account Owner transfers ownership. Go to **Settings > Setup > Organization Information**. This article covers what you can update, how to set points of contact, and how to transfer ownership.

## Before You Begin

* To save changes, you need **Account Management: Edit Account Details and Configuration** permissions.
* Only the current **Account Owner** can request an ownership transfer.

## Update Public Links and Points of Contact

Points of contact decide where operational questions, donor replies, finance requests, and marketing follow-up go. Each one is a user on your account.

* **Primary contact** (required)
* **Donor contact**
* **Financial contact**
* **Marketing contact**

To update them:

1. Go to **Settings > Setup > Organization Information**.
2. Under **Public links**, update your website and social links.
3. Under **Points of contact**, choose a user for each contact.
4. Click **Save Organization Information**.

If someone isn't in the list, invite them first. See [Users](/settings/access/users.md).

## Account Owner

The **Account Owner** has legal and financial authority over the fundraising account. Each account has one Owner. The Owner is usually a president, CEO, CFO, executive director, chairperson, treasurer, or candidate.

## Transfer Ownership

The new Owner must already be a user on your account.

To transfer ownership:

1. Go to **Settings > Setup > Organization Information**.
2. In the **Account ownership** card, click **Change Owner**.
3. Under **New account owner**, select the user.
4. Click **Request ownership transfer**.

The new Owner receives an email. The next time they sign in, they're asked to confirm their identity, including their name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, a Plaid identity check, and a signature. Ownership transfers when they accept.

While the request is waiting, the **Account ownership** card shows a **Pending invite**. To cancel it, click **Cancel invite**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.anedot.com/settings/setup/organization-information-account-ownership.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
